2021 Anarchy Magnum – 36% Zinfandel, 36% Mourvèdre and 28% Syrah Blend. Description: Nose: Deep black tar fruit, boysenberry, bramble, spice, and anise laced with rustic Provincial herb. The Dirty Frenchman is definitely present. The tail end lingers with a scene of vanilla cream…
Palate: Deep dark fruit defined by blackberry, boysenberry, and cherry cola. The mid palate builds to a sexy mouthfeel with gentile tannins laced with spice, pepper, and hints of anise balanced with a hint of Vanilla Oak lingering in the background.
The one that started it all… Alternative to the max, the blend that defied all the rules except…. Anarchy RULES!!! The magic is the relationship between the Zinfandel and the Mourvèdre. The Zinfandel leads with all the bright brambly fruit and spice. The Mourvèdre grabs it and twists it around and upside side adding layers of dark cherry cola fruit, brooding spice and Anise. A wine suddenly possessed by a darker force that captivates the imagination with the Dark side. Thank God for the sexy lady Syrah who comes to your aid and pulls you back toward the light as the wine finishes with the sultry mouthfeel of Syrah that trails into a sexy toasted oak finish. Makes me want to listen to NIN.

14 kt gold fill earrings, valued at $180.00
2023 Martellotto Proprietary Red Blend Napa Valley, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and 40% Syrah. The wine’s immense structure is a result of precision sourcing. Martellotto utilized the rugged, volcanic slopes of Atlas Peak to give the Cabernet Sauvignon its muscular, high-elevation backbone, then balanced that brawn with Merlot and Syrah from the cooler Oak Knoll District. This “mountain meets valley” approach results in a silken texture loaded with smoked plum, dark chocolate, and cracked pepper. It’s a bold, sophisticated red that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the valley’s heaviest hitters. Awarded 94 points by Decanter Magazine.

2023 Gamay, Alisos Canyon AVA ($40)

Coming from a single vineyard in the eastern Sta. Rita Hills AVA, this chardonnay has fresh and zippy citrus notes and is balanced by neutral oak. A chardonnay for those who don’t like California chardonnay. Drink now, or revisit in three to five years.

3L 2014 Le Cigare Volant, Central Coast, California
The 2014 Bonny Doon Vineyard Le Cigare Volant is a classic, Châteauneuf-du-Pape-inspired California red blend. Featuring a blend of 39% Grenache, 35% Mourvèdre, 17% Syrah, 7% Cinsault, and 2% Viognier, the wine is known for its earthy, spicy, and rustic flavor profile alongside refined structure. Very bright, deep ruby color, lots of black fruit, mulberries and cherries on the nose. There is a pronounced minty, almost alpine pepperiness, which is the unmistakable hallmark of Bien Nacido Syrah. Grenache adds rich black fruit flavors and a discreet spiciness. Syrah is principally sourced from Bien Nacido vineyard in Santa Maria Valley, which produces the closest analogue we have found to a Northern Rhône Syrah—tannic and meaty in the lower registers; peppery, fruitful and delicately floral in the top, all the while showing great balance and harmony. The non-irrigated, centenarian Del Barba vineyard of Contra Costa continues to provide Mourvèdre for Cigare. A touch of the 120+ year old vines of the Becthold Vineyard Cinsault provides a very particular fragrance of flowers and aromatic herbs. The wine is remarkably resistant to oxidation after it’s been opened, remaining fresh for the better of a week. This is profoundly good news for the long-term prospects of this wine and for those who possess a cellar.
Story: In 1954, the village council of Chateauneuf-du-Pape was quite perturbed and apprehensive that flying saucers or “flying cigares” might do damage to their vineyards, were they to land therein. So right-thinking men all, they passed an ordinance prohibiting the landing of flying saucers or flying cigares in their vineyards. The ordinance further states that flying saucers or flying cigares that did land were to be taken immediately to the pound. Valued at $200.00

The wine was aged in François Frères barrels (Bertrange Forest) for 17 months and bottled unfiltered.
WINEMAKER’S COMMENTS
Santa Cruz Mountains Estates and Domaine Valeta: ⁎ ⁎ ⁎ ⁎ ⁎
Nose: Very fragrant and fine, with a range of very distinctive and appealing aromas (raspberry, plum, cherry, rose petal, vanilla, toast, spicy oak, white pepper, black tea).
Palate: Supple and full-bodied with surprising richness, excellent depth and flavor (similar to nose), good balance, and a very long, toasty finish.
Summary: Outstanding; one of the best vintages yet. It displays terrific fruit flavor and intensity, wonderful balance, and very positive length. Now hitting its stride; a wonderful wine likely to drink beautifully through 2028. Very high quality for an Estates blend! Valued at $140.00
A bottle of our signature Bordeaux Blend, Coquelicot Mon Amour 2021 (Merlot 50%, Malbec 33%, Cabernet Sauvignon 17%), and a tasting for up to 4 guests at our tasting room. We make thoughtful organic wine from our Estate vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley. We believe in regenerative farming never using pesticides or herbicides. Our wines are refreshing, vibrant, and velvety on the palate. An honest and natural approach to winemaking. Valued at $150.00
Take a Vineyard Tour followed by a Tasting Experience for up to 4 guests. Nestled in the heart of Paso Robles’ Willow Creek District, our tasting room is the perfect place to savor thoughtfully made wines, learn about our winemaking approach, and enjoy the story behind each vintage. At Creekcut, our tastings feature a curated selection of five wines, showcasing the best of Paso Robles fruit. We offer an intimate, welcoming experience—rich in knowledge, refreshingly unpretentious, and deeply personal. As we pour each taste, we share not just our wines, but the passion and dream that brought Creekcut to life. Tastings are offered Thursday through Monday, from 10AM to 5PM. Valued at $200.00
One bottle of 2021 Ricordati, Paso Robles (60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, 7% Tannat): Ricordàti is our signature Bordeaux blend. It is a classic lower left-bank style made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Tannat. The name means something like “a remembrance” in Italian, a tribute to those who have passed from our lives. This is a wine lover’s wine. The robust Cabernet Sauvignon is softened and supplemented by the Merlot and the Cab Franc, then fortified with Tannat. It is hard to offer pairing suggestions on this; once I start on a bottle, food just seems so irrelevant. Valued at $45.00
One bottle of 2021 Petit Sirah, Paso Robles: Petite Sirah is a small berried, tightly clustered varietal on a vigorous vine that just loves Paso Robles. The wine is inky black, full bodied with crisp acids, pepper and spice. The 2013 Dark Star Petite Sirah won the prestigious Four-Star Gold Award at the California Orange County Fair. Valued at $45.00
One bottle of 2019 Left Turn, Paso Robles: Left Turn is one of our creative California blends; it crosses the boundaries imposed by old world regulations. The blend is 42% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 21% Zinfandel, 8% Mourvèdre, 4% Merlot. The base is a GSM blend, but we supplement this with a healthy percentage of Zinfandel. This is one of our softer wines, not as tannic as our Bordeaux blends, smooth enough to pair with delicate dishes, but with enough spice to stand up to a robust marinara sauce. The alcohol is well balance by fruit and soft acids on the palate. Valued at $45.00

The Donnachadh Estate Trio, which includes one bottle each of our 2022 Estate Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah – all from our certified-organic vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills. Valued at $205.00
2022 Donnachadh Estate Chardonnay
Soft white flowers, lemon curd, wet stone, and flint on the nose. Intensely concentrated in the mouth, with bright, juicy acidity, citrus, apple and peach fruits, and a taut, chalky minerality. Nice, generous mouthfeel, largely provided by the later-ripening clone 4 from the top of the vineyard. Clean and crystalline. Lengthy finish with the trademark Sta. Rita Hills kiss of salinity. Aged 10 months in French oak, about 25% new, followed by 6 months in stainless steel. $65.00
2022 Donnachadh Estate Pinot Noir
Sourced from our steep, north-facing hillside blocks, this is a blend of the Pommard, 667, and 115 clones. Delicately floral on the nose, with aromas of savory herbs, dark red cherries, black tea, and turned earth. The palate is where the Sta. Rita Hills really shines through, with the dynamic tension between the cool ocean breeze and the bright California sun: juicy, ripe dark fruits — red and black cherries and pomegranate — atop a backbone of minerality, crushed rocks and firm tannins. It has a lengthy finish where the fruit trails off with a little tang of iron, dried herbs, black tea, and slight salinity. $75.00 Aged 16 months in French oak, about 25% new. This is a wine that’s built for the long haul and will improve for several years in the cellar. Drinking now, we recommend decanting the wine ahead of time, or at least opening the bottle early and giving it lots of air and time to evolve in the glass.
2022 Donnachadh Estate Syrah
This is an elegant, cool-climate Syrah that leads with aromas of graphite, blackberry, tart black cherry, ground pepper, spice, and lavender. It’s medium bodied with a
balanced, refreshing mouthfeel, beautifully integrated tannins, and a lingering, perfumed finish. This Syrah is nuanced and promises to age well for many years to come. A bottle paired with grilled meat or a hearty stew is comparable with the best of Saint-Joseph. $65.00

Magnum of 2015 Tempranillo, 64% Paderewski and 36% Catapult Vineyards, Willow Creek, Paso Robles. Fermented in concrete, oak tank, and 1/2-ton new French oak puncheons. Aged 19 months: French oak barrels (60% new). This wine will need decanting until at least 2020 if not longer! Even better, cellar this fresh and structured serious bottling. The tannins need time to broaden, and the aromas and flavors need exposure to air to open and reveal dried Bing cherry, red plum, pipe tobacco, dried tea leaves, pencil lead and a savory gaminess. A vanilla, toasty barrel spice is subtle but frames and adds layers to the palate. Fans of Tempranillo, a gift is in store for you. Accolades: 98 points, Jeb Dunnuck; 94 points, Vinous; 94 points, Wine Advocate. Valued at $220.00

Gift Certificate for a private ATV Tour and Wine Tasting for Four people at Hoyt Vineyard. If you’ve ever wanted to experience the heart of Paso Robles wine country in a way that’s as fun as it is unforgettable, a ranch tour at Hoyt Family Ranch is a must. Tucked away on the scenic Westside, this hidden gem combines rustic adventure with the refined pleasures of wine tasting for an experience that appeals to wine lovers, families, and anyone who loves the great outdoors. Take the tour in Spring, when everything is green and there are adorable baby chicks! In Summer, the vines are the most gorgeous. In Fall, there are grapes to sample right off the vines, as well as cool ocean breezes. You’ll want to bring a picnic or order a cheese and charcuterie board from a local purveyor to make the most of your time on the ranch. Your journey begins on the Ranch house porch, where you’ll be greeted by the small winery dog, who may want to join your tasting! You’ll enjoy a curated wine flight of Hoyt Family’s hand-crafted wines. Then it’s time for a little adventure: hop on an ATV for a ride across the ranch’s rolling hills. And you can bring wine and snacks to enjoy on the hilltop! The wide-open views of Paso Robles vineyards and countryside are breathtaking, and the ride itself is a thrill that brings out the kid in everyone. Among the vines, you can walk through rows of grapevines in various stages of growth. In Spring, you can see budbreak, leafing, and inflorescence (the flowering of the plant). In Summer, the vines are at their most beautiful, with luscious green leaves and grape veraison, ripening in the California sun. There’s something magical about plucking a cluster right off the vine and tasting the fruit that will soon become Hoyt’s beautiful wines. In Fall, you can taste the sweetness when it’s almost ready to be made into wine. This is a rare chance to connect directly with the land and the winemaking process! More of the ranch’s four-legged residents will be ready to greet you, as you make your way to the goat pen (when they are not out chomping up all the weeds). Goats also add a playful charm to the day, making it easy to slow down, laugh, and enjoy the moment. They are an important part of sustainable farming at the ranch. On the Hoyt Ranch hilltop, enjoy breathtaking views of the Willow Creek AVA and the Paso Robles landscape. Sip, savor, and compare the flavors while you relax with a picnic in the fresh air. Jump on the swing and soar high in the sky. It’s the perfect way to linger, share memorable moments, and soak up the beauty of the ranch. A day at Hoyt Family Ranch isn’t just a wine tasting—it’s an immersion into the Paso Robles lifestyle, where rustic charm and fine wine come together in one unforgettable experience.
